Frontier Village Amusement Park, San Jose, California

Frontier Village at 4885 Monterey Road in San Jose, California opened in 1961 and closed in 1980. The western themed amusement park was located at Monterey Road and Baranham Lane in San Jose, California. It was built in 1961 on the site of the Victorian estate of Congressman Hayes.

 

Frontier Village featured over 30 rides and attractions including: the Ferris Wheel, a 1910 Merry-Go-Round, Tarantula, Duster-Turnpike, Apache Whirlwind, Stagecoach, Indian Jim Canoes, Burro Pack Train, FV & RG Railroad, Kitty Hawk, Lost Dutchman Mine, Petting Zoo Island, Antique Autos, El Sito Mysterio, Shooting Gallery, Sidewinder, Round-Up, Archery, Old 99, Rainbow Falls Fishing, Arcade, Skee Ball, Last Chance Casino and the Marshal's Office.
